Behaviour Difficulties
Anger Management
We help families and individuals to get along better and reduce their conflict. Teaching anger and emotional management skills to children and teenagers can help them to understand themselves and others better. Staying calm and thinking things through is an important life skill which can be developed. Our Psychologists can work with children and adolescents to improve these skills.
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) & Conduct Disorder
While every child can refuse to follow instructions at times some children and teenagers experience significant behavioural difficulties such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and Conduct Disorder. These conditions are characterised by excessive refusal to follow adult instructions and defy authority. Early identification of these difficulties and skill development can be an important aspect of improving outcomes later in life. A Child Psychologist can work with the individual, family and school to teach strategies and techniques to reduce conflict and behavioural difficulties.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurological condition which makes affected children and teenagers much more impulsive and distractable than their peers. Thorough assessment and diagnosis is essential when working with these individuals in order to identify their unique strengths and weaknesses. Our Consulting Psychologists are qualified and experienced in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD to assist families and teachers to better understand and work with the child.
