Provisional Child & Adolescent Psychologist

Ms Terra Harrison, Assoc MAPS
Terra Harrison completed a Master of Science (Clinical Psychology) degree at Capella University in the United States after studying undergraduate psychology in Canada. Due to attaining her qualifications overseas Terra is classed as a Provisionally Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) until February 2019. This will allow her to transition to our national system while gaining additional experience and supervision in Australian settings.
Terra is a registered provider with Medicare and is entitled to provide the same rebate to clients as a Registered Psychologist. Terra is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC).
Terra has worked in a range of settings such as schools, rehabilitation firms, governmental agencies and private practice. She treats a range of psychological concerns in children and teenagers such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, behavioural difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Terra has a special interest in childhood trauma and attachment issues. She conducts learning assessments including Developmental Dyslexia testing and incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy during treatment sessions. She works closely with young people and families to identify and implement realistic behavioural strategies to address the family’s needs.
Terra has experience working with Out of Home Care (OoHC) clients including children and adolescents with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) who are placed in Care. Her strong knowledge base focussing on childhood trauma is a particular asset when working with such individuals. Terra has expertise in developing Behaviour Management Plans for third parties, parents and schools.
