Mr Doug Angus, MAPS
Doug Angus is a fully Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Charles Sturt University (CSU). Doug is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is currently completing his Endorsement to become a Clinical Psychologist.
Doug’s experience working with young people began when he worked as a teacher in Sydney, before he retrained as a School Psychologist. Doug has experience working as a Psychologist in government and independent schools in Sydney, the Central Coast and remote communities in far west New South Wales (NSW).
Doug has skills in evidence based assessment of learning and behavioural difficulties presenting in childhood and adolescence, with an emphasis on holistic treatment planning. He utilises a range of evidence based interventions including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing. Doug’s research interests include exploring how to make psychological assessment more accessible and cost effective for young people, particularly those living in remote areas.
Doug is passionate about working with young people and their families to achieve their goals. He understands the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance in his work and prides himself on committing great energy and enthusiasm toward building relationships with his clients. Doug's background in education and school systems provides him with a unique perspective and knowledge when working with young people and their families.
