Ms. Shaylia Naldo MAPS
Provisional Psychologist
Shaylia is a Provisional Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and a Master of Professional Psychology (with Distinction) from the University of Newcastle. She is currently completing her Master of Clinical Psychology with Charles Sturt University.
Shaylia has experience working with young people and adults across public and private settings, including Out-of-Home Care, Supported Independent Living, and rural drug and alcohol services within NSW Health. She has a particular interest in presentations involving trauma, suicidality, mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and intellectual disability. Shaylia has supported individuals with emotional dysregulation, disruptive behaviour, and self-harming behaviours, and has contributed to NDIS Behaviour Support Plans within multidisciplinary teams.
Shaylia’s therapeutic approach draws on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. Shaylia is recognised for her warm, inclusive, and respectful approach and is committed to culturally responsive, developmentally sensitive, and strengths-based practices. She values working collaboratively with families and professionals to support meaningful, client-centred outcomes and is dedicated to promoting emotional development, resilience, and holistic wellbeing.
